Museum of Senses

Museum of Senses

When was the last time that you experienced something for the first time? Welcome to the Museum of Senses Prague!

A unique adventure that will challenge your senses, even those you never knew you had! A museum where nothing around you is as it seems. Are you ready?

The MUSEUM of SENSES is home to an experience that will awaken your senses and inspire you to discover more and, therefore,  to feel more. Live an unimaginable experience in a world of sensations and mind-blowing optical illusions and test your senses at an extraordinary museum. A place as fun as it is educational, as amazing as it is enigmatic, and as crazy as it is rational.

An Adventure of the Senses

Let yourself go during an experience full of challenges for your body and your mind. You will learn a lot about your perception, sound vibrations, touch, smell, the human brain and science. Observe and explore what you feel, and make sense of your senses.

Are you ready?

Your journey will begin with a walk through a dark tunnel where you will experience a jungle where the water flows upwards, stand over the top of a skyscraper only to enter into a desert with mind-blowing optical illusions, where nothing is at it seems. Your journey will continue in a park where you can play music and form extraordinary sand structures, and then experience an adrenaline rush and dizziness by walking through an amazing Vortex tunnel. In between you will explore the worldwide-known ‘AMES room’ that will heavily challenge your perception, enter into an inclined room only to find that nothing is at it should be, but, again, all seems normal, then revive your energy with dancing in endless waves of music in an infinity mirror room. Each one and all of your senses will be stimulated to awake your imagination and defy your perception.

From Facebook´s Museum of Senses review:

Víťa Lobpreis – “It was super afternoon, full of crazy games, optic illusions and mirror rooms! Go here, if you have time!

UNGELT

Týn Yard (Týnský dvůr) – Ungelt Prague One of the most important historical sites in Prague, this block of buildings, probably built in the 11th century, was originally a fortified merchants’ yard, where customs duties – ungelt – were collected. The most important building here is the Granovský Palace with its arcaded loggia, one of Prague’s best preserved Renaissance treasures with beautiful sgraffito, and murals that depict scenes from the Bible and from Greek mythology. The oldest name of the area between the churches of St. James (Jakub) and Virgin Mary before Týn is Týn or Týn Yard. The word týn means an enclosure, a fenced area, the former word otýniti used to mean to enclose. It originated from the Celtic word dunum – a hillfort, a fenced area, a fence; from Germanic tuna, German Zaun, English town. It was a fenced merchant yard, which according to archaeological research from the 1980s-90s originated in the 12thcentury. Vrtbovská Garden Prague

A beautiful Baroque garden One of the most important and most beautiful Baroque gardens created thanks to the ingenuity of František Maximilian Kaňka. The garden is part of the Vrtbovský Palace no. 373/III. This city Italian-style palace garden is a gem among baroque gardens in the whole of Central Europe. Established on the site of the former vineyards around 1720 at Vrtbovský Palace. The owner Jan Josef Earl of Vrtba entrusted the building of the garden on Petřín hill slope to the architect František Maxmilián Kaňka. With its area of approximately 3,000 m2 it is one of the smaller historic gardens, nevertheless […]
