Trmal Villa (Trmalova vila)

This villa was built from 1902 to 1903 for František Trmal, the director of the public business school, based on designs by the architect Jan Kotěra. The house is a unique synthesis of Art Nouveau geometric ornamentation, English country architecture, and Slavic traditions. Traub Villa

The villa of industrialist Edmund Traub is a rare example of German Modernism in Prague – its foundation is a reinforced concrete structure and the villa itself features interesting stone siding. The Lord Mayor’s Residence (Rezidence primátora)

The unique premises of the City Mayor’s Residence are considered an artistic and architectural gem in the art deco style. The residence of the Mayor was established in the years 1925-1928 by architect František Roith and occupies the entire first and second floor of the front tract of the City Library at the Mariánské square. The premises are used for representative purposes and receptions of distinguished guests in Prague. They are open to the public only on open-door days. The Langhans Palace

This palazzo positioned between the pulsating vivaciousness of Vodičkova street and the green oasis of the Franciscan garden has for more than 130 years been a place associated with photography. Its name comes from Jan Langhans, the renowned Czech portraitist, whose photographic portrait studio was once the most sought after in the Czech Republic. Although there is no shortage of Neo-Renaissance and Art Nouveau façades in Prague, the Langhans building’s recent refurbishment has elevated it to an architectural work of exceptional merit. The House at the Minute

This building, part of the Old Town Hall complex, is a typical example of Czech Renaissance townhouse architecture. The facade, decorated with sgraffito, depicts scenes drawn from biblical and mythological sources, as well as contemporary Renaissance legends. In core, it is late-Gothic from the beginning of the 15th century; it was modified in Renaissance style after 1564. The Czech National Bank is the central bank and financial market supervisor in the Czech Republic with its headquarters in Prague, and a member of the European System of Central Banks. Its seat, the bank palace was constructed between 1935 and 1942 in the functionalism style according to the design of František Roith. The City of Prague Museum – Villa Müller (Müllerova vila)

The villa, built from 1928 to 1930 is a chef-d’oeuvre of world architectural avant-garde. František Müller was a prominent member of Czech society and he gave the project for his own representative home to one of the greatest architects of the time – Adolf Loos. The construction is superficially strictly functionalist; of primary interest is its internal layout, the Raumplan. The Podskalská Customs Office at Výtoň is the last monument that commemorates the beautiful and forgotten times of the Podskalí settlement and the hard work of the Vltava river rafters. It’s located on the river embankment in a building from the 16th century. The exhibition is dedicated to the history of the extinct Podskalí settlement, the life of its people, the history of freight and passenger transportation on the Vltava River, and the beginnings of steam navigation on the Vltava. Villa Rothmayer is one of the gems of modern architecture of the 20th century. Two-storey house was built by architect Otto Rothmayer (1892-1966) for his family between 1928-1929. Inspiration arising from the Mediterranean style, which architect Josip Plečnik propagated in our lands, reflects in the design of Rothmayer’s villa.
